While I still love my grays and neutrals, I’ve added some stunning pops of color that mix well with core neutral pieces. The large camel leather sofa paired with these modern/ transitional accent chairs creates a beautiful canvas that you can add different pillows and decor to to totally change out your look if you get sick of it. The best part is that these pieces mix well with coastal, modern, contemporary or transitional decor and you can even use them in a bedroom or basement instead of the living room if you want!Read More

REAL LIFE: Why You DON'T Need a Coffee Table in Your Living Room!
My Kid Friendly Living Room Doesn’t Have A Coffee Table- (And I totally don’t miss it!)
As I have been putting together my new house one layer at a time- I have gone back and forth on weather or not I actually need a coffee table, and you know what, I totally don’t! We have an active 2 year old, an 85lb Black Lab/ Rottweiler / Pit bull Mix and 2 crazy cats- so function is way more important for our lifestyle.
As I work thru my punch list of decor that I want to add to my new house, I am finally seeing everything come to light. We have painted almost every room on the first floor, I have purchased a rug, new wall decor and a couple of rugs- everything is finally come into place. But the one thing that I had always gone back and forth on was if I wanted to add an ottoman on casters to move around the room or a hard top coffee table. Truth be told, we f*cking LIVE in our living room. We eat here, we work here, we relax here so moving a hard top coffee table any time we want to jam out to some Baby Shark, build a pillow fort or drag out a Gazillion toys to play with at once, just isn’t realistic!
So I’m substituting! We have nesting tables in the corner with a lamp on it, I pull out the bottom one to use as a TV tray- and I have a C shape side table that tucks under the sectional- This one I leave out because I can easily move it around or tuck it under the sofa if we are using the floor space.Read More
All I wanted was a crisp white accent shiplap wall to add a cozy element and maintain a light or an airy look that will soften my dark furniture that I already have So, before we moved I was searching for companies that had peel and stick shiplap options and that's when I came across wall Wallplanks. I love everything the company stands for and just HAD to try them out! Though they weren't really made for rental because they are SO sturdy with the super adhesive glue back, I knew that I had to have them- after all, they will only add to the updates that this house so desperately needs! Here are the top 4 reasons I chose to purchase Wallplanks:

What is the main reason you hire an interior designer? To create a cohesive design that mixes colors, patterns and materials and create a cozy space. It is my FAVORITE part of my job. I love to create inspired designs that are functional for every day life with a busy family but so pretty that your home is the envy of all of your friends. The best part is- I do this on a budget that people can actually afford because I truly believe that everyone can have a well designed home.
In this post I'm going to share with you my tips to create a designer inspired look for your living room. You will learn how to mix match patterns and fabrics as well as finishes and paint. I will teach you my process to create your own mood board to visualize your new space. I am also including 6 mood boards to inspire your color palette and pattern play! You may choose to get samples and create this board with the real materials or you can make it digitally using Powerpoint (I use Photoshop but Powerpoint will work just the same for you here too!) If you are going to use pictures from you actual space on your digital mood board (vs ordering swatches) you should take them all during the same time of day (the lighting will be consistent) with as much natural light as possible so the images aren't too dark and it will read better.
Always think of your room in layers, doing this will break it down into small manageable pieces and create depth in the overall look. When I'm designing I always am looking for contrast. Here is an example- working from the floor up. If the flooring is dark- I choose a lighter rug (or something with bolder light colors and some darker if you have kids or pets). If the rug is lighter- the sofa can be darker. If the sofa is darker the walls can be lighter- and so on.Read More
I've been a pillow arrangement maniac for the past couple of weeks, creating designs for my clients that are ready to get their houses in order for the long awaited spring time! I am a sucker for a neutral palette with pops of green or blue- but I always want to create something that you don't see in stores, that you cant buy at wayfair or target. My goal for every single pillow configuration is to make something unique and tailored with custom selections from sources that you have probably never heard of. Small businesses!Read More
Hey everyone! So I asked my Facebook group what their biggest struggle with is while decorating their house and the answer was unanimous; How do you accessorize?! Creating a warm and inviting space and displaying your personal possessions is what makes a house a home, but the biggest struggle is finding a way to arrange everything so it doesn't look cluttered and disorganized.Read More
