LOVE the lines of your table! Create drama with a unique dining table base. Or contrast the dining chairs with a darker or lighter dining table, remember not everything has to match!

MIX textures with your chandelier- blend glass, metal and crystals to create a focal point over your dining table. Remember your chandelier should hang approx 33" from the top of the table to the base of the light. The chandelier should not exceed a minimum of 6" from the ends of the tables.
ADDING texture to your floors will ground your space and break up the flooring from the table and chairs. In a kid friendly atmosphere a highly textured or patterned rug are great for hiding small stains and durable to clean up spills.
ADDING an elegant mirror to the dining room reflects light around the space making it feel larger and more open. In repetition it can create a really bold accent on one wall- use odd numbers for balance. If you use two mirrors you can center your favorite piece of art in the middle, as long as there is a sequence of three it will look visually symmetrical.
WARM cozy colors are the best way to create an inviting dining space to entertain your guests. I've listed a few of my favorite modern farmhouse paints for you to check out on your walls! Grab a sample at your local store and see how it looks in your room at different times of the day. The morning will look warmer as the sun comes up and at night the color will look cool- see how it works with your flooring and adjacent rooms.

THE FINISHED LOOK!
I pulled together my favorite design elements to create a cozy space for entertaining your friends and family this Holiday season! In the final design I've added additional accessories and wall pieces that complete the look. My favorite combination includes three mirrors on the back wall to reflect light around the space and make it feel larger. Simple and and elegantly patterned curtains with a rod that runs the entire length of the wall for more drama.
I broke up the chairs for visual interest including a bench on one side with soft tufts, contrasting gray captains chairs that use height and metal whitewashed side chairs. The table has a beautiful base and the wood contrasts the neutral pattern rug perfectly. The chandelier adds pizzazz and is the first thing you notice as you walk into the room.
